What to Bring to Camp (and Camp Start/Stop Times Again)

We meet at 8:30 every morning at Horace Mann Elementary's Community Center (behind the school). Please let us know if you can't get there by 9:30 in the morning, so we know that you will be late. Pick up is at 4:30, unless you have told us the day before that you need aftercare... then pick-up is 5:30. Here's some things to bring:

Lunch. Please pack things that don't need refrigeration. We have water, so bring a water bottle so we can refill it throughout the day.
Wear shoes that are secure on your feet (NO flip flops)
We are outside except for thunderstorms. Please dress appropriately.
If you have a particular bug spray or sunscreen that you like to use, bring it.
Don't forget any medications that you might need (epi-pens, etc.)
For the Thursday/Friday camping trip, bring a sleeping bag. Let us know if you don't have one and we'll see what we can come up with but give us advanced notice.

Horace Mann Elementary's 2010 Online Fundraising Auction is Over

The Horace Mann Elementary School auction is their biggest fundraising event and proceeds go directly towards providing teaching assistants in classrooms, the science program, art room supplies and professional development. The auction ran until Tuesday, March 2 and this year all restaurants, spas, camps and other fantastic donations were online. Outdoors With Friends donated a week of camp in support of this great school.

Spring Break Camp, March 29 through April 2

We have recently finished planning what is going to be an incredible Spring Break Camp! We’ve made a few changes in programming but are sticking to the awesome original schedule that we had last year. One big difference in programming is that we are going to have our scavenger hunt in Rock Creek Park rather than at the National Mall. If your kids came to camp last year, you’ll remember that was the day we came home exhausted after searching almost every museum on the Mall for clues to find hidden treasure.

MRM Program is now on Saturdays

Brrrr. It's cold outside! Starting February 27th, the MRM program will be moved to Saturdays. For more information on our MRM program, check out our Monthly MRM Program page.
